Boats on the river Durme at blue hour

Long exposures during blue hour was one of the first kind of pictures I used to experiment with when I started photography about 8 years ago. Because I have recently decided to make the Durme river one of my new photography projects, I thought it would be a great idea to go through some of my older pictures and write a blogpost about it to get the project started. Here are the two pictures I have made in 2014, I like the most.

Lokeren is the town, in East-Flanders, Belgium, where I live. The river Durme runs right through the center of the town and people like to dock their boats here in summer.

The long exposure shots took between 10 to 20 seconds depending on the light level of the evening. It also smoothed out the water movement.

Both pictures are single shots processed in Adobe Lightroom to show exactly how I have experienced the view that evening.

There are still plenty of interesting locations of this local river to discover, so I’ll be taking more pictures for this project soon.
